A garden comes to life

This circular garden on a cul-de-sac in Brookline was a once-neglected space brought to life in the span of three weeks. The circular raised bed called for a mix of formality and enchantment. Evergreen boxwood provide structure as the interior of the garden is a symphony of color and plantings throughout the season. We started with the heavenly scented lilac trees and added a Japanese maple for fall interest. A variety of Allium create height and color while woodland plantings like salvia and nepita are placed throughout and encouraged to flourish in the dappled light of the mature trees that were existing. Meant to be enjoyed from all angles, the garden became a well-loved spot for distanced gatherings. Bees soon found out about the plethora of nectar and songbirds quickly made this an ambient space full of life.
